Current control relay for single-phase circuits, allows to control the current flowing through the circuit to be monitored.

When the current exceeds the adjustment range, during more than the adjusted time, the output R connects, and disconnects when it is lower than the adjusted value.

Electronic relay for monitoring the current flowing through its measuring circuit, if the measured current is within the set parameters, the relay R switches on.

This relay is usually used for the protection of machines against overloads or no-load operation of machinery or electrical circuits, associated with contactors or circuit breakers, or by direct control of them.

The relay is designed to work on single-phase lines in alternating current, with a supply voltage of 240Vac and with a maximum current of 16A. The measuring range can be extended by using current transformers.

The width of the relay is 18mm and all adjustments are made from the front of the relay.

Description of operation:

When the supply voltage is applied, the led Un (green) is activated, the output relay R remains deactivated, whatever the value of the current flowing through the measuring inputs, for a time adjustable by means of the potentiometer marked Tr. Once this time has elapsed, the current monitoring relay starts monitoring the current, if the current value remains below the set value, the output relay remains deactivated, if the current exceeds the set value, for a time longer than that set by the potentiometer Tt, the output relay will be activated, this is indicated by the led R (red).

Once the current returns to within the set parameters, the output relay is deactivated.

Adjustment potentiometers:

  • Imax. Current setting value at which the output relay will be activated.
  • Tt. Minimum time that the current must remain above the setting value for the output relay to be activated.
  • Tr. Initial over-current time. Time during which the monitoring relay does not monitor the current. Very useful when the relay monitors lines with a very strong initial peak, such as motor starting.
